Evesham, Worcestershire.Job Purpose:
We have a requirement in our Purchasing team for a Purchasing Assistant. The role will work alongside the Purchasing Co-ordinator.
The role will be responsible for running the MRP, obtaining quotes and supporting the purchasing inbox ensuring the emails are responded to in a timely manner.
You will be a good communicator who can work well with other departments internally. You will also communicate with external suppliers, ensuring goods are received on time.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The role of Purchasing Assistant will:
• Obtain quotes.
• Create manual PO and returned orders.
• Confirm purchase orders.
• Creating POs from the MRP and the purchase requisitions.
• Work with the Purchasing Co-ordinator supporting the Purchasing inbox and replying in a timely manner.
• Liaise with the sales team daily to support outstanding orders.
• Update our ERP, which is Microsoft AX with correct cost prices and lead-times.
• Create part numbers and finish creating part numbers Italy set up.
• Chase suppliers to ensure all items are received on time. If they are late for any reason, you will ensure this is communicated with the relevant people.
• Customs clearance as and when they are received.
• Arrange for shipments to come in from the relevant logistic companies. This will entail liaising with our Warehouse team.
• Support the Accounts department with any invoice queries received.
• Responsible for employee’s uniform.
• Liaise with the Logistics department on any booking in queries e.g., quantity queries, AX errors etc.
• Any other ad hoc duties required by the business.
• Manage the MRP process and stock ordering.
• Ensure the ERP is up to date.
• Ensure purchasing emails are responded to in a timely manner.
• Work closely with the Purchasing Co-Ordinator to ensure that the purchasing department is running efficiently.
Essential
• Experience in using an MRP/ERP system (We use Microsoft Dynamics AX).
• Previous experience required from a manufacturing/ engineering background.
• Good IT skills, including Excel.
Desirable
• Italian speaking an advantage though not essential
